The Cranberries

Wasn't there a group called "The Cranberries" when I was in high school?
(I started to say when WE were in high school,
but I realized that I didn't go to high school with all of you.
Or really any of you.
I don't think anyone who reads this blog
went to high school with me--all one and a half of you.)

ANYWAY---I had to do something with a bag of cranberries today. They had been here probably longer than they should have been. I bought them to make this cranberry-pecan pie that sounded good to me when I had the gestational diabetes stone hanging around my neck. Everything sounded good then. But I hadn't made that pie yet.
So I made it today.
And that only used half the cranberries.
So I also made a loaf of cranberry nut bread.

And what did I discover?
You somehow use stomach muscles when you use
the Pampered Chef chopper.
And those same muscles somehow come into play
when you are trying to put the lid on a Tupperware
canister that does not want to have its lid put on.

And if I end up being in pain tonight like I was last night,
Lloyd Dobbler is going to be so aggravated with me for doing that baking.
But who would think that baking stuff would be hard on a two week old incision?
I always thought of baking as a non-contact sport.
I just hope that the two baked good items are edible.
I started several times to dump half a bag of chocolate chips
into the bread batter. Everything is better with a
little chocolate, right? But I didn't do it.

Oh, I did find The Cranberries.
The group. Not the fruit.
I am thinking they are Irish. Love the girl's voice. I do remember this song from my youth. I didn't watch the whole video, so if something vulgar pops up, let me know and I'll swipe it back off of here.

And it wasn't when I was in high school.
It was college.
Don't want to lead you astray into thinking that
I'm still in my twenties or something.
I know that photographs of me are enough
to deceive anyone into thinking that....

I remember that song...and I was about to say, hey Bell you were in college. Since it came out in 93, and I was just getting out of High School...BUT so not in my 20s anymore:) You know what you needed in the bread? Some white chocolate. I know you are such a HUGE fan of white chocolate. As a matter of fact I am going to send you a box of it ;) Okay, I know it would just sit there or you would use it on the chalk board when you started up school again. Stay warm!
